‘At the dawn of the XXIst century, art was no passion. What was called “contemporary” was addiction.’

I wrote this contentious, seemingly exasperated statement in greasy pencil on a Post-it note, then enlarged it six times. The first plan was to fix an old, unused, unstretched canvas onto the main one, so that it would look like a real sticky note. It was visually unappealing.

So I painted the square blue note directly onto the neon-yellow canvas, in the colour code of the #aaafff painting series, still like a Post-it stuck on a bright cardboard folder. After its first version, I changed the statement to make it more ambiguous, or ambivalent, and left the edits and self-censored passages visible.
