Toxic Masculinity

While acting as a critical self-portrait, Toxic Masculinity originates from a sequence of 44 messages: a single photo, then 19 memojis, and 25 heart stickers, collectively forming a distinctive illustration. This extended messaging spree encapsulates the extremes to which love and ennui can drive an individual.

The title resonates with the toxic potential of the image. It becomes almost absurd to consider the recipient being bombarded with 44 notifications, only to decipher that their boyfriend is simultaneously probing their feelings and expressing affection in an overly gluey, albeit potentially endearing, but likely irritating manner.
