Twin Peaks
A white disc turns against a blue field. A small green point interrupts the arrangement. The frame stays still; the object does not.
The blue is my wall painting #000fff (Veriscope). The green point is ç (#aaafff B.A.A.), a leather-and-screw object measuring 1 × 1 × 1 cm. The Arthur Fouray 2015–2017 portfolio identifies the turning object as Portmanteau Rotary Plate. Painting and objects meet inside the video: the wall becomes a field of colour, the small object a point, and the rotary plate a moving disc.
The 2017 catalogue credits Richard Strauss’s Also sprach Zarathustra, Op. 30 — Prelude. Written in 1896 after Friedrich Nietzsche’s book, its opening also enters this constellation through Stanley Kubrick’s 2001: A Space Odyssey (1968).
