This pencil drawing on canvas took almost three months to realize. It stems from a genuine paradox: a friend, Alfredo Aceto, had long promised to exchange or give me a ceramic of his, Welcome to the Art World (2014), but never did. I had the insight to paint it myself—to, in a way, possess it. Since the exchange never happened, I decided to paint cracks over the entire surface, adding a layer of interpretation that speaks to a wider message.
